Shotlinq

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 July 2026 · Applies to the Shotlinq Android app and shotlinq.com

Shotlinq is made by an independent solo developer. This policy is written to be read, not to be survived. It says exactly what the app collects, why, and how to make it stop.

The short version. Shotlinq stores your tasks and your email address so the app works and so you can sign back in. It shows no ads, contains no analytics or tracking SDKs, and never sells or shares your data with anyone for advertising. You can delete everything from inside the app, and it is really deleted.

Who is responsible

Shotlinq is operated by Vikas Kumar, an individual developer based in India. For anything in this policy, contact privacy@shotlinq.com.

What Shotlinq collects

DataWhyKept where
Email address To create your account and sign you back in. This is either the address you enter for a one-time code, or the address on the Google account you sign in with. On our database server
Your task text The words you type into your lists. Stored so your lists survive reinstalling the app or switching phones. On your phone, and mirrored to our database server
App activity When you locked a list, when you cleared it, whether you broke the lock early, and your streak. This is what makes streaks and reminders work. On your phone, and mirrored to our database server
Subscription status If you buy Premium, Google Play sends us a purchase receipt so we can switch Premium on for your account and keep it on while the subscription is active. On our database server

Payment details never reach us. Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card number, your bank, or your billing address. We receive only a receipt saying that a purchase happened and whether it is still active.

What Shotlinq does not collect

If you email support

When you tap "Contact support" in the app, it opens your own email app with a message pre-filled with your app version, whether you're on Free or Premium, your streak, and your device model. This is there because "reminders don't arrive" is almost always a battery-saver setting on a specific phone, and we cannot help you without knowing which phone. Nothing is sent until you press send, and you can delete any of it before you do.

Who your data is shared with

Nobody, in the sense that matters: your data is never sold, rented, or handed to advertisers or data brokers. It is not used to train anything.

It is processed by these service providers, purely so the app can function:

We may also disclose data if we are legally required to by a valid court order or law.

How it's protected

No system is perfectly secure, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise. But Shotlinq holds very little worth stealing, deliberately.

How long it's kept

Your data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account and it goes, as described below. Purchase receipts may be retained for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep records of a sale.

Deleting everything

In the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, your tasks, your lists, and your streaks from our servers. It is immediate and it cannot be undone.

You can also request deletion by emailing privacy@shotlinq.com from your account's email address, and we'll do it by hand within 30 days.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions live with Google, not with us. Cancel it in the Play Store: Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Shotlinq → Cancel.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, and under the GDPR if you're in the UK or EU, you may request a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be erased, or withdraw consent. Email privacy@shotlinq.com and we'll respond within 30 days. There is no charge, and we won't make it difficult.

Children

Shotlinq is not designed for or directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

International transfers

Our service providers may store and process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union, under standard contractual safeguards.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the app will tell you the next time you open it. We won't quietly widen what we collect.
